Director / VP of Marketing

TokBox is looking for someone to lead our marketing team, in all facets of product marketing and corporate marketing. Responsibilities include defining and implementing our customer acquisition and customer retention strategies, helping to build our brand, working with our PR team, helping to refine our revenue plans, providing guidance on product direction, and taking on other tasks related to the business side of building TokBox. This position will report to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will display many of the following qualities:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and marketing management
• Experience in a consumer-internet-focused company
• Proven track record of seeing growth in customers, active customers, or other metrics as a result of your work

Director / VP of Business Development

TokBox is looking for a Director / VP of Business Development. This person would be responsible for developing and maintaining new strategic partnerships, primarily with owners of heavily trafficked web sites, to enable those sites to use our in-browser video communications tools. Some relationships with non-web-based companies will also be important (such as retailers who sell web cameras or other communications tools). The candidate must have experience forming revenue-sharing partnerships where both companies' interests remain aligned. Connections and experience working with business development leads at these types of companies are a must. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy enough to articulate some details of our competitive differentiation. Must be willing to live in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley area, though travel to other parts of the US and Europe/Asia are also required. This position will report to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will display many of the following qualities:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in business development, preferably with consumer internet companies
• Minimum of 3 years experience in ad sales management
• MBA preferred
• Technical background (such as former software engineering or computer science experience) preferred

Software Engineer, Rich Internet Application (Flex)

TokBox is looking for a few great software engineers who know ActionScript 3 / Flex (or are willing to learn) to help make our video applications more intuitive, fun, and easy to use. Responsibilities include working with the designers to improve the look of the site, adding new functionality to our video chat applications building amazing UIs in ActionScript 3 and Flex. If you're a software engineer who's experienced in Flex, ActionScript (2 or 3), Java, C#, or C/C++, and you love working on beautiful and elegant user interfaces, we want to talk with you.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA. We are not currently interested in hiring contractors for this position.

• B.S., M.S., or Ph. D. in Computer Science or equivalent

Software Engineer, Web Services and Application Infrastructure

TokBox is looking for experienced software engineers to help build out the TokBox site. We build services to connect out to users through instant messaging, email, and our Flex-based site. Engineers interested in this role should be experienced at building scalable, high-performance, secure object-oriented web applications in PHP (or similar languages like Python, Ruby, or Perl), or C/C++, or Java.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA. We are not currently interested in hiring contractors for this position.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate many of the following professional competencies:

• BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science
• 3+ years experience working on shipping products or significant open-source projects
• Working knowledge of developing scalable web systems
• Experience with server-side web frameworks, especially LAMP
• Experience developing consumer Internet products
• Experience with XMPP/Jabber or other IM protocols a big plus
• Ability to design high-performance database-driven applications a big plus
• Interest in data mining/analysis

Senior Operations / IT Administrator, or Senior Operations Engineer

TokBox is looking for a senior systems administrator / engineer to help build out our back-end infrastructure to support our browser-based live video calling application. If you live and breathe apache config files, know about load balancing databases, web servers, and other tools, and you know about how to set up secure systems, we're interested in talking with you.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA. We are not currently interested in hiring contractors for this position.

Minimum requirements:

• Have at least 4 years of experience maintaining linux servers in a production environment
• Consider yourself an expert at configuring Apache, MySQL, Postfix, PHP, and DNS
• Comfortable with, or able to quickly learn, Nagios, Pound, Munin
• Very security-conscious, and able to configure very secure machines
• Can write and maintain some shell scripts
• Able to also support some tools used in-house (calendaring, email, etc., all also *nix-based)
• Also able to work with engineering on other tasks
• Must be a self-starter, but can also work well with others

Bonus points if you:

• Have a computer science degree or equivalent
• Have familiarity with streaming media servers such as Flash Media Server (FMS)
• Have familiarity with instant messaging servers
• Be able to write scripts and tools in Perl/Python/Ruby/PHP
• Have experience at working with hosting providers outside the US (as well as within)

QA Tester

We are looking for a QA Tester to perform web testing, primarily on Windows and Mac. You will work closely with engineering, product management and the rest of the QA team.

The ideal candidate will satisfy many of the following professional requirements:

• 2-4 years black/grey box testing of web and/or software applications; have seen multiple projects/products through the entire software development cycle.
• Can work independently and juggle priorities in a fast-paced startup.
• Experience writing test plans, test cases and test scripts as well as ad hoc testing.
• Experience with defect tracking software (Bugzilla, Jira, Test Director, etc).
• Proficient in Windows and Mac.

Nice to have:

• Experience with perl.
• Experience with Linux.
• Automated testing experience (watir, selenium, etc).
• Experience with site monitoring (ActiveWatch, Dotcom-Monitor, etc).
• BS degree

Product Designer

TokBox is seeking a talented, experienced and passionate Product Designer to become a key member of our Product & Design team. Do you combine strong visual chops with strategic thinking, an eye for simplicity, and the ability to think through and solve difficult interaction problems? If you do, we're looking for you to help us continue to push the design of TokBox as we continue to define and expand our business. The position is full-time and reports to our VP of Product. This position is based in TokBox' San Francisco office.

Responsibilities include:

• Translate user requirements and complex business processes into highly usable, highly interactive applicationsi.
• Drive the design of clean, efficient, useful application interfaces from conceptualization to final visual implementation.
• Design and ship products of the highest quality with a clean and consistent style.
• Be a champion for users' needs from requirements gathering through solution definition, with wireframe mockups and detailed visual design mockups
