TokBox Launches Two New Products

OpenTok API Now AIR-for-mobile-enabled; New HTML Embed Offers “Drag and Drop” Solution for Integrating Live, Group Video Chat in to Websites

SAN FRANCISCO — April 14, 2011 — Following its successful launch of the OpenTok API in November 2010, today TokBox announced two new product launches – mobile features for the OpenTok API and the first OpenTok Widget, an HTML embed. These two product launches underscore the overall TokBox vision of powering video chat across the web and across devices.

Since the launch of the OpenTok API four months ago, the number of websites and web applications integrating video chat using the API has more than doubled, and now almost 80 websites and web applications are live. TokBox is launching these two new products as a direct result of this success, and in response to demand from both existing and potential partners.

OpenTok takes silver at LaunchPad

On December 9th our CEO, Ian Small, presented on TokBox’s behalf in GigaOM’s LaunchPad contest at the Net:Work 2010 conference. Not only did Ian take 2nd place in “Audience Choice”, but his well executed song and dance earned 2nd place in the judge’s panel as well. Go team!

We’d like to thank the folks at GigaOM for giving us the opportunity to participate in the event, as well as the judges who so kindly gave us a score of 25/30.  We must admit, it was a bit nerve-wracking to watch Ian be judged as if he were a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
