Motilo Steps Up the Etailer Game

With so many eCommerce sites available today, etailers have to find innovative ways to stand out from the crowd and offer truly memorable experiences; experiences that will not only motivate the customer to make the move from “add to cart” to “purchase”, but also keep them coming back for more.

Enter Motilo, our newest App of the Week and the first etailer to offer an interactive fashion-focused social network. It combines a unique e-commerce platform which enables users to shop with friends face-to-face via OpenTok.

Instead of incessantly emailing your bestie every time you find something online you’d like to purchase, spare them the email storage (and agony) by inviting them to a Motilo “Create Looks + Shop Together” session.  Users can browse the large inventory of high-end designer clothing from partners like Net-a-Porter, and actually build an outfit from the earrings down to the six-inch Christian Louboutin heels.

Given that the focus of a “Shop Together” session is to build out a look, and potentially purchase some of those items, Motilo has placed the video stream in the bottom left corner of the page. They’ve made sure the video chat augments the shopping experience rather than distracts from it. Let’s get real, the more room there is to accessorize, the better.
