OpenTok is a LaunchPad finalist @ GigaOM’s Net:Work 2010

We’re very excited to announce that the OpenTok platform has been selected as a finalist at GigaOM’s LaunchPad competition at their upcoming Net:Work 2010 conference.

Eight companies will “pitch” the innovative technologies they are developing in the work-collaboration space in the hope of winning one of two awards: an audience choice award (determined by SMS voting) or the judges’ award.

Our CEO, Ian Small, will use his four minutes to demonstrate how the OpenTok platform has the power to make workspace tools more collaborative by adding group, face-to-face communication. One example would be our existing partnership with Assembla, but other opportunities could be adding group video chat to GoogleDocs, SalesForce, Basecamp or any other shared information space. Wherever the integration, we believe video communication is key to improving a dispersed team’s growth and productivity.

Ian will be making his pitch @ 5:50 p.m. on Dec. 9th as part of Net:Work 2010. If you’re in attendance, make sure to stick around for the presentation and, if you’re so inclined, vote our OpenTok platform as the “best idea”.

Thanks 🙂
